The annual meeting of ISO/TC150/SC2, the subcommittee on cardiovascular implants and extracorporeal systems under the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), was successfully held in Lisbon, Portugal.
Dr. Zhang Deyuan, Chairman and CEO of Biotyx Medical, attended the meeting as the Head of the Chinese Delegation (HOD), together with Dr. Zhang Wanqian, Chief Technology Officer, and Ms. Li Wenjing, Regulatory Affairs Manager.
During the meeting, participants of Working Group 7 (WG7) engaged in in-depth discussions on the revision of the international standard ISO/TS 17137 — Cardiovascular implants and extracorporeal systems — Cardiovascular absorbable implants, as well as the annual SC2 plenary session.
The committee officially announced the launch of the ISO 17137 revision project, appointing Dr. Zhang Deyuan as the Project Leader. Dr. Zhang Wanqian and Ms. Li Wenjing were also approved as registered experts for the project team.
Biotyx Medical expressed a strong commitment to supporting and coordinating the revision process of this important international standard.
Notably, Dr. Zhang Deyuan previously led the drafting of ISO 22679:2021, the first international medical device standard initiated by a Chinese enterprise, marking a significant milestone in China’s contribution to global medical device standardization.
